Open night at the Observatory

Once a month (to be exact, every 29.53 days!),
when the Moon is between 4 and 8 days old, the Observatory of the University of Thessaloniki, opens its gates to the public. If the sky is clear, a series of observations of the Moon, the bright planets and several other astronomical objects, e.g. galaxies, stellar clusters, etc, can be marvelled through the 20-cm refractor of the Observatory.
The staff and post-graduate students will guide you to the splendors of the sky. Slide shows, movies and lectures often accompany the observations.

The next open night will take place on March 3, 2006, 19:00, if the weather permits.
